Denise M.— My Story (Part 1)

Hello and welcome to the Penn State Alumni Aphasia Group!

My name is Denise, and I am a proud holder of both my Bachelor’s and first Master’s degrees from Penn State!

WE ARE!    WE ARE!

I started at the Ogontz campus (now called Abington Campus).  I did my first two years at the Ogontz campus and then moved to Main Campus.  At that time Ogontz campus was not a residential campus; everyone either walked, drove, or used public transportation (bus).

We made the best of the bus despite having to walk about ten blocks (some parts with no sidewalk) from the bus stop to the campus.  Ogontz/Abington Campus is still beautiful, with greenery, trees, and a giant geese pond.  There were a lot of hills from building to building; the gym was soooooo long from the Sutherland building, where most of my classes were.
